I'm so happy to see you here on Substack! Your advice is always spot on and accessible. I'm a writing + creativity coach, which is fancy talk for "habit coach for writers." I don't specialize in the social media side of things because I am a flop when it comes to knowing which ones are best for what and why and how many times we need to post in each one to get x results. Is there a straightforward guide to this that you would recommend. I don't feel like I can help people build the habit if I'm this clueless.

Hi Bronwyn! Thank you so much! I'm passionate about helping writers.

Well, I did write a 30-Day Book Marketing Challenge that I've updated 3 times already lol. Working on the next update now but the current version is mostly still viable. Twitter (now X) is the biggest change. See my website for details.

I also do a free #BookMarketingChat every Wednesday at 11 am pst on X (https://twitter.com/badredheadmedia) which I record so it's all there after the fact (links on my timeline.

I also recommend reading Jane Friedman - she's amazing and her guests are always helpful.

This was a helpful post. My biggest challenge is finding my readers Twitter/X is a wasteland for me and only getting worse. Insta is a void I may as well be shouting into. The traditional methods of finding fantasy readers are changing. So my question is, when the old ways no longer work - how does a Fantasy writer adapt & find their readers?

OMG just saw this - so sorry, Carolyn! A newsletter is the best ROI in terms of time and money. I highly recommend using Booksweeps.com (it's $50) to build your email list by hundreds if not thousands of interested readers. I've written about it here!
