I tried to research the most popular social media platforms for fantasy readers on Pew, but maybe I'm not using it correctly. I got confused and overwhelmed and came away with no answers. What I am doing though is trying to connect with other fantasy readers (#fantasyreader, right here!), through YouTube and on Instagram. I'm new to TikTok and looking for fantasy readers there as well.
All that being said, I do have a fantasy-themed newsletter here on Substack where I talk about all kinds of things related to the genre. I have a lot of fun with it.
I'm trying hard to hit all the marks here. 90 days out and working on everything I can. Will bookmark this to review this weekend and compare with my plan.
CrimeReads published a story about a successful indy author who was rejected endlessly and got lucky with a book trailed video that went viral. I dunno if I can attribute any of that success to anything but luck. I don't wanna be lucky. I want to have a smart process. I mean, sure, I guess I won't turn down luck, but winning the lottery isn't for everyone.
